Miss Esther Johnson of 109 Vance St, Crawfordsville, died August 2, 1964 at Culver Hospital where she had been a patient one day. She was the daughter of John Johnson, former local manufacturer. Miss Johnson was born Jan 24, 1904 at Waveland. The family moved to Crawfordsville before she was a year old. She was a graduate of Crawfordsville HS and National Park Seminary at Washington, DC. In 1953, Miss Johnson began serving a two-year period as the Welcome Wagon Hostess. She was a member of the 1st Methodist Church and WSCS of that church. She was also a member of Group C of the art league; Order of the Eastern Star #97; DAR and Tri-Kappa. Survivors include four cousins; Franklin Johnson; Richard Johnspn; GOrdon Robinson; Mrs. Arthur Reeder. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bright Funeral Home, Rev. Keith Carlile of Trinity Methodist Church officiated. Burial in Masonic Cemetery. - transcribed by kbz
